JOB SUMMARY:

Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

This position is responsible for managing and coordinating AVANGRID intercompany, Bank Reconciliation, and Transactional Accounting functions within the Administration Department in the US, to ensure compliance with the Iberdrola Administration model and with AVANGRID policies and procedures. Position is responsible to deliver high value added and cost-effective services. The scope of the position includes the following processes.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Scope of work - range of responsibilities):

  • Intercompany (billing of operations, contract custody, transactions posting, cash and non-cash settlement and tally of operations).
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Transactional accounting, Administration processes not automatically performed by the system. Review and fix every automatic process with exceptions.
  • Monthly closure in compliance with Tax, Control and Regulatory Requirements
  • As a member of the AVANGRID Administration Management team, this position will support the AVANGRID Administration management as required.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on the monthly closure ensuring good quality of information, a fair image of the transactions from an accounting point of view. Report monthly accounting metrics to the Corporate Function in Spain.
  • Ensure an efficient performance on the Intercompany, Bank Reconciliation, and transactional Accounting on a daily basis.
  • Communicate with the different departments within the Company (Treasury, Tax, Control) to achieve the accounting accuracy required for monthly closures.
  • Complete internal and external audit requests, performs SOX
  • Controls and ensure compliance with the applicable standards and policies
  • Ensure the observance of the policies, criteria and procedures established by Tax, Financial and Administration Departments, identifying discrepancies and proactively working to improve alignment with the Corporate model beyond the daily operative tasks.
  • Lead collaboratively with, provide guidance to, and provide training as needed, to 2 junior staff members.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field required
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in implementing and understanding accounting principles and administrative control procedures in corporate business environment and working in compliance regulated industries
  • Public accounting experience in Big Four firm or reputable accounting firm. Alternatively CPA is desired.

In addition, this candidate will have strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work as necessary.
  • Importantly the candidate will capable of providing leadership and oversight for junior staff members including coordinating, reviewing and delegating workloads.
